Rochester, NY: Below is the 2013 Pre-championships Outdoor Watch List for the Cynthia J. Wyatt Award (High School Female Athlete of the Year).

The members of 10 person watch list come the four sections in the Niagara Association. Five members of the watch list come from Section 5, three come from Sections 6, with the remaining two from Section 3. Three of the ten members of the also mentioned list each come from Sections 3 and 6

There are three female athletes:

• McKyla Brooks (Frontier) long jump;
• Karmen Auble (Warsaw) pole vault;
• Jaskiran Dhaliwall (Grand Island) discus throw;

who have the current #1 performance in New York State. These three were among those selected for the watch list.

There are three other female athletes:

• Laura Leff s (Frontier) 2,000 meter steeplechase;
• Oreoluwa Akinpelu (Liverpool) 400 meter hurdles;
• Eileen O'Hara (Webster Thomas) 3,000 meter run;

who have the current #2 performance in New York State. These three were among those selected for the watch list.

Others on the watch list include US top-10 performers from the indoor season (Madeline Kopp (Spencerport), Katie Lembo Penfield), and Jenn Thill (Lancaster)) and the 2012 Section V Athlete of the Year (Isabel Hirtelen - Booker (Harley-Allendale-Columbia)).

There are nine NY top 10 performers on the Also Mentioned list!

The list of finalists for each of the annual awards will be announced in mid-July. The public vote on the finalists begins on 17 July 2013 and ends on 14 August 2013.

The award winners will be announced at the 2013 Niagara Track & Field Hall of Fame Awards Banquet, to be held on 07 September 2013 at the RIT Inn & Conference Center in Rochester, NY.
